Many people love chocolate, but is this so when it is smashed in their carpets? Personally, I'm a great fan of chocolate, but I had to deal with an awful chocolate stain on my carpet recently, and you would hardly make me believe that there is someone who actually enjoy on chocolate stains.
If chocolate gets into your carpet, try these steps, suggested to me by carpet cleaning Clapham team, to get rid of the stain.
Instructions
- Get the following items: spoon, liquid dish-washing detergent, 2 white rags, ammonia and water.
- Use a spoon to scrape off as much of the surface chocolate as you can. Be careful not to rub it into the carpet fibers!
- Blot the stained area using a white cloth moistened with a solution of 2 cups of warm water and 1 tablespoon of liquid dish-washing detergent. Rinse the cloth when it gets dirty, and moisten it with the detergent solution again. Continue blotting the stained area until the stain vanishes completely.
- Blot up the solution from the carpet using a dry rag.
- If the chocolate stain remains, carpet cleaning Clapham suggests a solution of 2 cups warm water mixed with 1 tablespoon of ammonia. Work the stain as described in steps 3 and 4, using the ammonia solution instead of the detergent solution.
- After the stain is completely removed, blot the carpet dry with a dry, clean cloth.
You should NEVER mix ammonia with bleach, as this will create hazardous fumes.
