How to Clean 5-Gallon Water Bottles

If you often use large bottles to store mineral water or something else you should learn how to keep them clean. In this article we will give you one quick and effective cleaning tip how to disinfect your 5-gallon water bottles.

If you leave your water bottles unclean for a longer period, bad odours could appear or even mould can grow inside of them. London cleaners say that it is really important to keep your water bottles clean especially if you store water in them, not some dish-washing liquid or other detergents. So, here is one cleaning procedure to sterilise your 5-gallon water bottles.

1. You have to place the bottle in your kitchen sink and fill it with warm water. Most kitchen sinks are too small and it is almost impossible 5-gallon bottles to fit under the facets. Therefore you may need to pour the water in the bottle from another vessel.

2. Then you have to wear your rubber gloves. Add 1 cup of bleach into the water bottle. Screw the cap back on the bottle to shake it. This is the best way to mix the bleach and the water. Then let the bleach solution to sit for about a half an hour. If there are any remaining stains leave the bleach to sit for a longer period. Then empty the bottle and rinse well several times with clear water.

3. London cleaning professionals advise to allow the bottle to air-dry. Cap off and store the bottle on some accessible place.
