Carpet Stain Removal with Vinegar

Sooner or later you will face the task to deal with carpet stains. Fortunately, even the toughest stains, such as cola, coffee and pet mess, can be easily removed with common household vinegar.
However, to be efficient, vinegar should be used properly, and here is what carpet cleaning Clapham team suggests:
  1. Get a clean empty spray bottle, and fill 1/3 of it with white vinegar and the rest with cold water. Cap the bottle, and shake it to mix the ingredient thoroughly.
  2. Test the mixture on a hidden area of your carpet by spraying a small amount of it to verify that the vinegar doesn't cause fading of your carpet's colours.
  3. Blot the stained area with paper towels to remove as much of the excess stain-causing liquid as possible from your carpet.
  4. Spray the vinegar solution onto the stain generously, and let it sit for a few seconds in order to soak into the carpet.
  5. Make a stack of five to eight paper towels, and press it against the stain to absorb the staining ingredient into the paper towels.
  6. Keep spraying the stain with the mixture and blotting with paper towels until no stain remains. To ease the removing, you can spray some solution on the paper towels, too.
  7. After there is no more marks of the stain, allow the carpet to dry. As to the vinegar's scent, it will fade with the time so no more further measures are required.
For large stains, carpet cleaning Clapham team suggests you to use a carpet cleaning machine. Pour the vinegar solution into the machine's reservoir, and clean as usual.
