3 Easy Way to Get Rid of Wine Stains from Silk

When wine is spilled on silk, it should be treated immediately in order to be avoided permanent stains. The longer the wine sits on the silk, the tougher it will be to remove. So as soon as you can, carefully blot up as much liquid as possible, then use one of the methods below to get rid of the wine stain completely.

Laundry Detergent
A mixture of laundry detergent and water can be effective to help remove a wine stain, however, you may need to add a little more detergent than you normally do to make the solution stronger. Use hot water and stir the mixture until the detergent is completely dissolved. Then, soak the silk for a few minutes into the mixture before blotting up the stain with a soft, clean cloth, as advised by cleaning Wimbledon experts.
Liquid Soap
Mix liquid soap with a small amount of peroxide and pour the solution directly onto the area of the silk affected by the wine spillage. Work the mixture into the fabric using a soft, clean cloth and then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat the process until the wine stains is completely removed from the silk item.
Stain Remover
Purchase a commercial stain remover specified for removing wine stains. Apply it to the silk according to the instructions on the product's label.
