Peanut butter sandwiches are a favourite snack to a lot of people. But sometimes in the mornings when you are in a hurry you might drop some on your cloth and there you have it - a stain. It seems quite tough to remove it. Well, do not worry. It is not so hard to remove it. Here is what you need to do:
Start by scraping off as much of the butter as you can. Use a dull butter knife or a spoon, so that you do not harm the fabric. Cleaners East Acton advise you use lifting motions, so that you prevent spreading the butter further into the fibre.
Turn the garment inside out and run hot water through the back of the stain. This way part of the butter will go back out.
Apply, directly on the stain, some kind of pre-wash stain remover or a dish washing liquid made specially for removing grease. Rub it in gently with fingers or with a soft brush. Leave it like that for at least 30 minutes so that the detergent or the stain remover has time to work in the fibre.
Now launder the garment with the hottest water that is recommended. Make sure you check the lab for any special instructions.
When it is ready, check if the stain is removed. If it is still there Cleaners East Acton say you should repeat the process with the dish washing detergent or the stain remover again.
Even when you think that the stain is gone make sure that the first drying is air drying, because if you put the clothing in the dryer, the heat will set the stain in permanently and it will be impossible to remove it.
