The Hard Water Problem

The "hard water" is high in dissolved minerals(calcium and magnesium). It won't harm your health but it is an annoying feature. Why? Because it not only causes problems with the pipe and heating systems but also reduces the sopa and/or detergent performance comparing with soft water. When it comes to laundry there are several solution you better try to improve the mildness of your clothes:

1. Use more detergent and add white vinegar to the first rinse. You can put the vinegar in the bleach dispenser if you have one. The vinegar is efficient for removing residual deodorant left on clothing and prevent yellowing. It also makes the clothes softener and "shiny" without unwanted smell.

2. Buy from the store some water conditioner - laundry additive created to balance the "hardness" of water.

3. Try using fabric softener - created to prevent static cling and make fabric softer. It is available as a liquid or as dryer sheets. Keep in mind that you shouldn't overdo with it. Avoid using all in one products. Read on the labels or in the website of the prosuct some recommendations what amount of the softener to use.
