How to Remove a Tomato Juice from Carpet

Tomato juice spilled on a carpet leaves unsightly red stains that are very apparent on light-coloured carpets. Tomato stains like many other stains, are much easier to remove while they are fresh.
Treat a tomato juice stain as soon as notice it in order to keep the magnificent look of your carpet. By using basic solutions and techniques, you would be able to remove old and fresh tomato stains without using professional help such as carpet cleaning Parsons Green.
The thing that you will need are 2 cups cold water, 2 bowls, liquid dish detergent, ammonia, 2 sponges, 2 white cotton cloths and a thick cotton towel.
Here are the steps in removing tomato juice from carpet:
  1. Pour 2 cups of cold water into a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of liquid detergent to the water. Mix the solution well.
  2. Use a white cotton cloth dampened in the cleaning solution to blot the affected area until the tomato juice is completely absorbed.
  3. Rinse the detergent solution out of the carpet by using a sponge moistened with cold water.
  4. If the tomato juice stain remains, use another bowl to make a solution of 1 tablespoon ammonia and ½ cup of cold water into it.
  5. Use another white cotton cloth dampened in the new cleaning solution this time to blot the problem area until the stains is completely removed.
  6. Blot the carpet with another sponge moistened with cold water to rinse out the ammonia solution.
  7. Use a thick cotton towel to dry the carpet.
Avoid using natural soap detergent as suggested by Parsons Green cleaners, because the tomato stain may become permanent.
