How to Clean with Vinegar

Many commercial cleaners contain vinegar as one of their main ingredients, but clear vinegar can also be used as a cleaning solution. Believe it or not, you will be able to clean just about any household item using vinegar. Its low cost and effectiveness make it a handy item to keep in stock.

Instructions
  1. To make an all-purpose cleaner, mix 5 cups of water and 1 cup of vinegar. This mixture will make a window, eyeglass lens or surface cleaner, but it won't eliminate bacteria, according to Acton cleaners. Make sure to use a disinfectant on stained surfaces.
  2. Boil vinegar and water on the stove to eliminate unpleasant cooking smells.
  3. To loosen up mineral deposits, saturate a paper towel with undiluted vinegar and place it onto the deposits.
  4. Grease stains can also be removed with vinegar. Mix equal parts vinegar and water, and wipe down any greasy surfaces with the solution to get rid of the grease.
  5. Mop linoleum or no-wax vinyl floors with a mixture of one gallon of water and ¼ cup of vinegar.
  6. Clean your coffee maker with vinegar. Add ¼ cup of vinegar to the water reservoir and fill the rest of the reservoir with water, then turn on the coffee maker. Wait to cool down, and repeat the same procedure with plain water.
  7. Use vinegar to remove carpet spills, like soda or coffee. Slightly wet a clean rag with vinegar and blot up excess liquid. Pour cold water onto the stain, and wet another clean rag with vinegar. Gently rub the affected area until the stain is removed. If the carpet stain is too stubborn, consider calling carpet cleaning Acton team.
