How to Remove Ink Stains from a Carpet

Accidentally spilled ink can leave unsightly stains on a carpet, causing the beautiful carpet to look dingy and neglected. These stains are very noticeable on light carpets, especially when the spilled ink is dark on colour. It is often much more difficult to remove dry ink stains than fresh ones. A prompt intervention helps preventing the ink stains from becoming a permanent part of the carpet.

Instructions
  1. Purchase a good dry-cleaning solvent from your local supermarket.
  2. Pour some of the solvent on a white cotton cloth as following the manufacturer's instructions on the product's label.
  3. Dab at the stained area with the cloth. Rotate the cloth while dabbing to expose a clean section of it in order to prevent reapplying ink to the carpet.
  4. If the ink stain is still visible, make a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap, as suggested carpet cleaning Holborn. Make sure the solution is thoroughly mixed.
  5. Dip another white cotton cloth into the solution, and blot the affected area until the ink stains is gone.
  6. Wash out the soapy vinegar solution from the carpet by blotting with a sponge dampened in cold water.
  7. Use a plush towel to blot the carpet dry. If the ink stain remains, consider calling carpet cleaning Holborn to come in your home and clean the carpet thoroughly.
You can use heavy duty detergent instead of liquid dish soap if the in stain is tough. Make sure to test the heavy duty detergent on a hidden area before applying it to the stain.
