How to Clean Crayon Stain From Carpet

No matter how hard we try we cannot prevent getting a stain on our favourite carpet or rug, especially when having small children and pets. Sometimes children just mistake the carpet for a coloring book and this is the moment when you get a Picasso's creation. To clean effectively crayon stains you need to follow the step written bellow during the carpet cleaning.
  1. The first thing you need to do is to remove as much crayon wax as possible. Use a butter knife or a credit card to scrape off the crayon.

  2. Cut a paper bag and place a single layer over the spot.

  3. Turn on the iron and heat it to its hottest setting.

  4. Move the iron from side to side rapidly over the spot.

  5. When the crayon is saturated you need to replace the paper bag.

  6. You need to repeat all these steps until you have removed as much crayon as possible.

  7. After that apply a small amount of dry cleaning solutions. Blot the spot using white clean cloth or paper towel.

  8. The next step is to apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent and blot again.

  9. Rinse the stain with warm but not hot water and blot again.

  10. Then apply a small amount of ammonia on the stain and you need to blot again.

  11. Repeat step 7 if needed.

  12. In the end you need to rinse with water and blot for the last time.
Let it dry completely before entering the room. Do not forget that you can always hire a professional carpet cleaning company to help you with the job.
