How to Remove Tomato Juice from a Light Carpet

Spilled tomato juice can leave unsightly bright red stains on a carpet, and these stains are especially noticeable when the carpet is light-coloured. At first, it may seem like an unbearable task to remove the tomato stain that glaring from your light carpet but actually, it can be easily eliminated if you act fast with the proper cleaning method.

Instructions
  1. Make sure that you have removed all excess tomato juice from the carpet before applying any cleaning solution to the stained area. Use paper towels to blot up the tomato juice until no more juice comes out.
  2. Pour 2 cups of cool water and 1 tablespoon of bleach free liquid dish soap into a small bucket, then mix well with a spoon. Bleach can discolour your carpet, so refrain from using products containing bleach, as carpet cleaning Camden advises.
  3. Moisten a clean cloth with your solution and dab at the stained area after you have squeezed the excess solution out of the cloth. Avoid scrubbing the stain, but blot instead, working form the outside of the stain towards the centre to prevent causing a bigger mess.
  4. Absorb the moisture from the carpet using a clean dry cloth, and continue blotting the solution into the tomato stain. Repeat this procedure until no more of the stain transfers to the cloth.
  5. Dip a clean cloth into a solution of ½ cup of cold water and 1 tablespoon of ammonia. Blot any remaining stain with the moistened cloth, then absorb the moisture with a dry towel.
  6. Use a clean cloth or sponge dampened with cold water to rinse the area, then blot dry.
  7. Carpet cleaning Camden suggests to use a fan to help the carpet dry quickly.
