How to Remove Ketchup Stains

Ketchup is used in many cooking recipes and it is very often added in sauces. That is the reason why it is normal to stain yourself with some ketchup while cooking. The problem is with its red colour, especially if you stain a light fabric. Do not worry there is a way to get rid of the stain. Here is how:

Start by removing as much of the ketchup as you can. Use a spoon or a dull butter knife and scrape it off.
Turn the cloth inside out and run cold water through the stain. CleanersCreekmouth say this will push the stain back out, but do not run the water through the front of the stain because it will set the stain in.

Rub some liquid detergent onto the stain. Work it into the stain with circular motions beginning from the inside towards the centre. This way you will not spread the stain.

Apply some stain remover gel or stick and allow it to sit like that for about 10-15 minutes. After that launder as usual using a a detergent. CleanersCreekmouth remind to air dry because if you use the dryer, the heat might set the stain in and make it permanent.

Check the area for any remaining stain. If there is, rub some detergent onto the stain and soak in warm water for 30 minutes.

If your clothing is white, use a mild bleach or some hydrogen peroxide. Apply it with a sponge, let it sit for a while and rinse well. Repeat the steps with the detergent and bleach until there is no more stain.
